The Arena

It’s interesting what happens when we protectively gate ourselves off from exposure. You avoid rejection and the pain that comes with it. But when you finally step into the arena—gleaming with unscathed newness—be prepared.

It will beat you up, break you down, and make you question why you ever started in the first place. Life has a tendency to knock your teeth in when you decide to step in and play the game. That’s just how it is.

Embracing the challenge is hard. There is no question about it. Most people only learn to accept it after they’ve gone through something difficult and realize there is no other way through it but forward.

Over time, overcoming challenges becomes almost like a sport. Not because you enjoy the pain, but because you understand the rules of the game: survive, adapt, and continue.

Without these difficult moments—the ones that seemed unbearable at the time—you would never truly know what you were capable of.

What’s interesting about the arena is that most people avoid it not because they lack ability, but because they misunderstand the cost of entry.
